Fire Drill Assessment & Training

It has come to our attention at Lauzon Life Safety Consulting that many facilities struggle in getting their staff to actively perform the proper fire response procedures during a fire drill. Therefore, we are offering a new service to assist.

This is an in-person service, as a full observation of the facility's performance cannot be done remotely. The training step can be done remotely, but we recommend that it be done face to face.

The steps to the Fire Drill Assessment & Training are as follows:

  1. Allow LLSC to assess the current performance during a fire drill:

    • This is a discreet observation. We want to get the most realistic image of how the staff performs their fire drills. A report of the successes and failures will be supplied prior to Step 2.
  2. Conduct personalized fire drill training for facility members:

    • Based on what was seen in Step 1 as well as the facility's fire response plan, a personalized training program will be prepared to inform staff on how a fire drill needs to be performed. Training should be done with staff members of all roles in the facility, NOT JUST MAINTENANCE. This step can be done remotely, but we recommend that it be done face to face.
  3. Practice what was learned

    • After training, a minimum of one fire drill is to be conducted under our supervision to see where improvements have been made. If desired, further drills can be performed to test the staff on more difficult tasks such as transporting beds during a drill. A report will be provided explaining the successes and failures of the post-training drills.
